SEARCHING FOR AN AC ADAPTER

 How do I find an AC Adapter for my laptop in your store? 

The quickest way to find a part is to type the make & model of your laptop into the search box at the top right hand side of the screen. It's always best to type in the exact model number from the label underneath your laptop, as some models of the same series can take different parts. For example instead of just typing Toshiba Satellite P25, you would need to type the exact model e.g Toshiba Satellite P25-S670.

What happens if my laptop model isn't listed?

If your looking for an AC adapter and your model isn't listed don't worry, just click here to access our special form and once we find the correct part we will create a special listing just for you.

SHIPPING

 How soon will it be delivered?

If you live in the UK we offer FREE DELIVERY via Royal Mail 1st Class Standard. After you've paid for your order we don't hang about!! Depending on when you buy your item, we will dispatch it either the same or the next working day, so in the majority of cases it should arrive within 1 -2 working days. However you have to remember that Royal Mail don't offer a guaranteed delivery time on this service and it can take them up to 15 working days to deliver. If you're in a real hurry for the item we also offer Royal Mail Special Delivery at £4.99. With this service you are guaranteed to receive the part within 2 working days.

Do you deliver to any other countries, apart from the UK? If so how much?

If you live outside of the UK we also offer fantastic rates on our postage. Just £4.99 per item within the EU, £9.99 to everywhere else. Your item will be sent Royal Mail Airmail (Small Packets). Due to the different delivery schedules in different countries we can't tell you how long it will take to arrive but it should take a maximum of 25 working days.

I have paid by PayPal, but I haven't had an e-mail from you to say the item has been dispatched?

You might have paid by PayPal e-cheque by mistake. This is where PayPal take the money from your bank account instead of a credit/debit card. It normally takes about 10 working days to clear.

I'm a UK customer who chose the free delivery service (Royal Mail 1st Class Standard) and the item i've ordered hasn't arrived?

In the majority of cases it will arrive within 1 -2 working days, however you have to remember that Royal Mail don't offer a guaranteed delivery time or tracking facility on this service and it can take them up to 15 working days to deliver. We can only guarantee delivery within 2 working days if you select Royal Mail Special Delivery when you checkout. Have you checked with the sorting office to see if they are holding a parcel for you? If you were out when they they tried to deliver they may have taken it back to the sorting office. They postman/postwoman is supposed to put a card through the door to let you know, but they don't always bother. If you've contacted the sorting office and you still haven't received the item after more than 15 working days from date of dispatch, please let us know.

I'm an international customer and the item i've ordered hasn't arrived?

Your item was sent by Royal Mail (Airmail) Small Packets. Unfortunately Royal Mail don't offer a tracking facilty or guaranteed delivery time on this service. Due to the different delivery schedules in different countries we can't tell you how long it will take to arrive but it should take a maximum of 25 working days. Have you checked with your local sorting office to see if they are holding a parcel for you? If you were out when they they tried to deliver they may have taken it back to the sorting office. If you have contacted the sorting office and you still haven't received the item after more than 25 working days from date of dispatch, please get back in touch.

FAULTS

What happens if my AC Adapter is faulty?

Unlike may other online retailers who will only offer a short warranty, we offer a full 1 YEAR WARRANTY on all our products. If your AC Adapter should develop a fault within the warranty period, just click here to report the fault. We'll then get back to you with an RA number and details of how to return the adapter. Once we receive the item back we'll send you a new one.

Can you refund the postage cost when I return an item?

We offer free delivery when we send items out and in the same respect i'm afraid we don't refund return postage costs when someone sends a product back.

Can you send a new AC adapter out, before I send the old one back?

Unfortunately we do need to have the old one back first, before a new replacement can be sent out.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa (including Visa Electron), Solo, Maestro (Switch) and MasterCard. Our checkout provider is Securehosting. You can also pay directly from a PayPal account.

Can I pay over the telephone?

Are you VAT registered so I can claim the VAT back?

Do you give a VAT receipt with your products?

Yes, a VAT receipt will be e-mailed to your e-mail address within 48 hours of purchase.

QUESTIONS ABOUT AC ADAPTERS

Are the AC adapters you are selling made by the original manufacturer?

No, they are replacement AC adapters designed to fit your particular make and model of laptop. If you are looking for a branded AC Adapter we recommend that you should only purchase it direct from your laptop manufacturers website, as there are many websites selling fakes. Any seller who advertises genuine ones for less than £30 are selling fakes, as the cheapest branded AC adapters cost at least that when you buy them in bulk wholesale.

Can you supply me with the correct power cord for my country instead of the UK one?

We have power cords available for most countries. When you buy your AC Adapter we will supply you with the correct power cord for the country you have given us on the delivery address. The power cord will have a sealed plug. The only country we currently don't have power cords for is South Africa.

Do your AC Adapters include the power cord / mains lead as well as the AC Adapter?

Yes, unlike many other suppliers we include a UK power cord with sealed UK Plug included in the price.

I just need to buy the power cord / mains lead. Do you sell it seperately?

At the moment we only sell them complete with AC adapters.

What happens if I buy an AC Adapter and it isn't compatible with my laptop?

Our compatability lists are very accurate but occassionally we do find an odd mistake that needs to be rectified. If this should happen just click here to report the compatibility issue. The information will be e-mailed to us straight away and a member of our customer support team will get back in touch with you as soon as possible with details of how to return the item so we can get it exchanged for the right model.

My AC adapter is getting hot, should I be worried?

No, it is quite normal for an AC Adapter to get hot. Just make sure you keep it in a well ventilated area. e.g. Not up to a radiator or anywhere where the adapter is enclosed on all sides.

Why is the input amps / amperage on the AC adapter you are advertising, different to my original one?

Don't worry if the input amperage is different to your original AC adapter. Your electricity supply will be able to deliver wahtever input amperage is needed. It's really the output on an AC adapter that counts. That is what sends the correct power to the laptop.

Why is the output volts / voltage and amps / amperage on the AC adapter you are advertising, different to my original one?

It is OK for the voltage to be within 1 - 1.5 volts of the original. Also, don't worry if the amps are higher. Laptops only draw what amperage they need from an adapter so the amperage can be equal to or greater than the original. It is really better to have an adapter with a higher amperage then the adapter doesn't have to work as hard. If the voltage difference is more than 1.5 volts or the amperage is less than your original AC adapter please let us know.

Will your AC Adapters work in other countries besides the UK?

Yes, our AC Adapters will work in any country as they accept an input of 100 Volts right up to 240 Volts. The only thing you will need is either a travel adapter or a different mains lead as the plug on the mains lead provided with the unit is a UK 3 pin plug. The mains lead & travel adapters are very common so you should be able to purchase one locally.

Do you give discounts for bulk purchases?

Yes we can arrange a discount if you are buying more than 10 items at once. Please contact us with the items and quantity you wish to buy and a member of our customer support team will get back to you with a price.

Do you allow collection of your products?

It's delivery only i'm afraid. We don't accept personal callers.

Do you sell any other laptop parts apart from AC adapters?

At the moment we only sell AC adapters, but watch out for our sister site www.keyboards4laptops.co.uk launching in the next 12 months. This site will sell a complete range of spare keyboards for laptops.

Do you sell car chargers for laptops?

No, I'm afraid we only sell Laptop AC adapters at the moment.
